There are many ways for you to get stuck in playing singles and doubles tennis at the club.
A great way to meet new people when joining the club, is to pop down to one of our club social sessions. Wednesday evenings kick off at 6:30 with Mike Cheshire on hand to organise the doubles. Stay behind afterwards and have a drink or two at the bar with Barry, our ever hard working Bar Manager. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons the courts are regularly full as well with team players often mixing in. We also run monthly Friday sessions, check out the events page for the dates. Balls and lights are all provided free. Once you're a member, simply turn up with your racket and put your peg on the board and you'll soon be mixed in and enjoying some doubles tennis!
Ladies' and men's singles leagues run throughout the year. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and get some singles practice in! Leagues are played as a best of two normal sets followed by a championship tie-break 3rd set. Bar vouchers are given to the winners of each league provided 3 matches have been played. All we ask is that people who join up are committed to playing! To sign up simply opt in within the leagues area of your account.
A variety of tournaments run throughout the year. The two main tournaments are the Winter Clay Classic, which runs from January to March and the Club Championships, which runs for 2 weeks in early July. We also have a variety of other tournaments running throughout the year including Friday night supper tournaments and special one off tournaments such as the Dixon's Cup. Keep your eye on the events page and the news section of the website to find out when tournaments are open for sign up.
